These buttons are pretty useless to me, so I decided to remap them to something more useful, like Voice Command. When you press these buttons, they launch MediaNet.exe and CV.exe in the \Windows folder. You can launch other programs by renaming them and overwriting these executables.

I remapped the MediaNet button to launch Voice Command as follows. First, copy all of the Voice Command files to \Windows. Rename voicecmd.exe to MediaNet.exe and overwrite the original. Since the original MediaNet.exe has RO and System attributes set, you can overwrite it by copying voicecmd.exe to the PC using Active Sync, renaming it, and then copying it back. Active Sync appears to ignore these attributes.

Someone should write a general launcher that can launch programs in other directories by reading a configuration file. Ideally, this can be configured using a UI.

Cheers,

Blake

I posted this a while ago. Still looking for the registry values tho. The method from post 2 doesn't work so well, lot of lag when launching the progs.

Great. Combining with http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php...2711&page=2
I was able to run any programs I want. It seems Active Sync solve the problem of needing to "unlock the app".
