I just set up two WM6 Standard devices for a couple employees. While doing this, I ran into something for the very first time, namely that when the first over-the-air sync started (with my SBS2003 Exchange Server), there was a message on the device saying that the server was enforcing a security policy and did I agree, and when I said yes to that, it asked me to enter a pin that apparently would be required if the phone was not active for x amt of time (chooseable up to 24 hrs). Whaddup wid dat? More importantly, how can I kill this?

Found it -- it's in Exchange System Manager / Global Settings / Mobile Services / Properties / General tab / Device Security button / unclick "Enforce Password On Device".
The Active Directory login password will still be needed for Sync, and of course the SIM card PIN is unaffected, but the DEVICE's own password security is no longer forced on.

Device(s): Kaiser, Touch

The only down-side is that if you do a Remote Wipe the (current) user of the device has the option to reject it.
AFAIK it stops them from Sync'ing again, but it means that the wipe does NOT take place.
