Hi everyone. ?I wanted to know if it's possible to use the htc s710 as a wireless (or even wired) modem for a labtop.
I remember my old Sony Ericson w300i could connect to my labtop through bluetooth and then my notebook could grab an internet connection through my phone.

Is that possible with the htc s710 in any way?
Thanks for any help in advanced.

Sure.
You can connect either with usb or bluetooth.

First USB:

1. Go to "Internet Sharing" in your start menu.
2. for "PC connection" Select USB
3. Select the desired Network Connection (i'm assuming the default will be the one you want)
4. Click connect - You will get a Status message saying "please check cable"
5. Plug usb cable into phone and PC
6. FINISHED! - Status should now changed to "connected"

** Internet Sharing will not work if your phone is connected to your PC via active sync. That's why I tell you to click connect then plug in the usb cord. If you plug in your cord first your computer might connect to active sync first if you don't hit connect fast enough.

Now Bluetooth:

1. Go to "Internet Sharing" in your start menu.
2. Select Menu -> Bluetooth settings - and make sure your PC is set as a bluetooth device on your phone (if not then pair them up)
3. For PC "PC connection" select Bluetooth
4. Select the desired Network Connection (i'm assuming the default will be the one you want)
5. Click connect
6. Your status will change to "On the PC connect bluetooth PAN"
7. On your PC go to your bluetooth options and connect to your phone PAN network. PAN = Personal Area Network
(so look for a menu option mention PAN or Personal Area Network)
8. FINISHED! - Your phone status should change to connected

** This message was sent using my HTC s710 as a PAN. So the directions should be correct.

Hi, i have tried using the internet sharing app

when you open it, it asks what type of "network connection" you want to use
on my vox it has these options:

Business Email
Contract Internet
Contract Wap
PAYT Internet
PAYT Wap

But nothing about using the built in WIFI

I hoped that i could use my homes wifi connection through my vox to get the net on my laptop
but as of yet, all it seems to want to do is use up my credit

(which i dont have much of because im a student)

Does anyone have any idea of what i could try? or does anyone else have anything different in their list?
