I notice that many users run TomTom or CoPilot from their devices but with the lack of a GPS receiver, I am assuming they are pairing it with an external one?
My question is, is there a GOOD portable GPS Bluetooth receiver that you can carry in a small bag or your pocket say? Which is the best software to use it with? TomTom or CoPilot? Also, I'm trying to find a thread with recommendations for decent software for the Touch, specifically games, useful applications and brain-training like software. Can anyone redirect me to a suitable list? Many thanks! |

I use a Freecom Mini GPS, which is small enough to fit on a keyring.
I've had no problems with it at all. Battery lasts about 4-5 hours, and it has a miniUSB charging socket (so can use the same USB or in-car charger as your PDA) The model has changed, and is now even cheaper: http://www.handtec.co.uk/product.php/821/f...ychain-gps-2000 This is the one I got: http://www.proporta.com/F02/PPF02P05.php?t...&t_mode=des Best software is a matter of personal preference. I like CoPilot Live 7 personally. Good value too. For software I'd suggest you look at FairDeal (commercial) Handango (commercial) Freeware Pocket PC (freeware) Google for more... |

Thanks! Are there any puzzle games you can suggest in the theme of the DS Brain Training games? I'm not sure how it compares to the DS Brain Training games, having never owned or played them, but I did come across a title from SPB Software House that may be similar: http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/brainevolution/?en It isn't freeware, and will cost about $20, but they make good software, I'm using both SPB Mobile Shell and SPB Pocket Plus on my iPAQ 614c and I can only imagine their games will be just as professionally made. Now I'm looking at it, I might even buy it myself -------------------- Current Phone: HP iPAQ 614c - latest HP ROM installed Current Software: SPB Mobile Shell v2.0, SPB Pocket Plus v4.0.2, SPG GPRS Monitor v2.5.1, Apoxsoft Metrix v2.1.1, Immiersoft XCPUScalar v3.0.3, PHM Registry Editor v0.70, Corecodec Coreplayer Mobile v1.2.1, Opera Mobile 9.5, Picsel Browser 1.0.5, visualGPS CE v1.2, Vito Astronavigator v2.02, smart2go Maps, Tomtom Navigator 6, Google Maps. Phone History: Philips Diga, Philips Savvy, Nokia 3310, Panasonic GD67, Motorola MPx200, HTC Alpine (O2 XDA 2i), HP iPAQ 614c |

Mate do you assign a com port to this device? The reason I am asking is that I have 2, 1 I use on my e650 and the other is for my wife on her htc touch. The e650 never has a problem finding the freedom but the touch is real hit and miss, with 99 times out of a 100 a "no gps device" message coming back to me from to tomtom. I have assigned a com port when setting it up in bluetooth and repeatedly re-paired it, but still no joy. Is there something i am doing wrong? Please someone help as this is driving me mad. |
