Hi i have recent got an Omnia, the only problem that i am having is that when i try and Geotag photos, through the camera, it doesnt give any gps longitude:

file details

GPS Altitude:222.50 m
GPS Latitude: 55 39'24.35"
GPS longitude: 0 0' -0.00"

I can get a full fix through Samsung mobile navigator and also in google maps using the built in GPS receiver..
Any Ideas?

Keith

I don't have that issue, and get full coordinates. Do you have HH1 ROM?

Maybe my previous answer was not so clear... I don't have this problem, and I have ROM HH1, so upgrading could solve the issue.

I bet they don't, I called them about an issue i had nearly a week ago, got given a ref code then told i would get called back with in 2 hours, I'm still waiting, Seems Samsungs Customer care/ After sales support is very poor since they out sourced to external call centres. Thank god for google, I found a fix via that

Have upgraded to HH1, and still get the same problem, Samsung are useless, as although they have now sent an email back they dont have a clue on how to fix the problem! (well i think thats what they are trying to say, its hard to read their email, as they have terrible english!!!) so much for uk support!

I have found a work around, to this no GPS longitude issue, if you install locr GPS Photo (http://www.locr.com/downloads) (its freeware).
you can still take pictures with your camera on the phone and manually geotag the pictures taken.
just go to select photos(in GPS Photos) and then select from the menu manually Geotag picture.
it works fine!!

I have this problem, It must be a problem with the Carma App. GPS works fine with everything else. I may install Loco GPS photo but it seems a bit of a hassel to geotag a photo

Yesterday I upgraded to DXHI1, and did the camera upgrade to 1.09 (with *#2470#)... and now I have the same problem as the OP!!!

I always get zero Latitude, and the Longitude is wrong (while GPS works in all other applications). angry.gif angry.gif angry.gif

As I wrote a couple of weeks ago, I did NOT have this problem before, so it really seems related to the camera version 1.09.

I also find it annoying that with 1.09 the camera does not start until it has a GPS fix... in my previous version (don't know the number), the camera would start even without a fix (grey sat icon), and would indicate when it had a fix (white sat icon).

Anyone knows how to "downgrade" to an earlier camera version?

Looks like your issue is different... you are just not getting a GPS lock. Are you able to get a GPS lock with other applications like Google Maps or a GPS utility?

As far as I understand it it is a problem of the ROM that can only be solved in a new ROM version... let's hope Samsung is aware of it...
