How do you load this onto the phone? When dropped into Application Data/home it does not appear in settings/home screen.

use active sync to put it on storagecard/ and then use allexlorer or smart explorer to execute the file. if you have not got either of these apps then load it into /ipsm/windows/startmenu/games and then use your phone, goto games and you should see the file there. highlight it and press the action button. the theme will now load itsef automatically.

seeing as ths is your first post i'll let you off but in future, please do a search as this question has been answered many times before. you'll be amazed at what you can find if you do a search and if you do more than 100 searches, you get access to secret games wink.gif

Found another cool way to install it.... smile.gif
Registered with one of the free SMS providers (eg virginstudent.com) and simply SMS myself the link. Click on link from within received SMS and hey presto it installs!

I'm using the silver TTR image from jhew's TTR theme (thanks!) with black "colour" palette and its superb....

My only comment - on the hidden menu that shows the appointments etc, the "no upcoming appointments" doesn't appear properly, but everything else about it looks pretty damn fine!!!

Small problem: when you have no appointments *using english version* the word appointments overlaps onto the next line, which kinda messus up the slick appearance. This still happens even though i deleted the date and '> ' from the beginning.

Is there a way to just cut the word off if its too long instead of bumnping it down to the next line?

cheers

Another fantastic skin. Thanks Jayz2k!

Only problem is if appointment names are longer than one line, or they are for the following day, when date becomes displayed too. One solution is to use smaller programme icons and expand the area for appointments to be 2 lines long.

I like this skin a lot but I want to tweak it. How do I reduce the size of the programme icons and have more on the screen at one time?

Great work Jay, by far the best Smartphone skin I've seen!
Just a few small nags:
* I don't really understand what is supposed to be shown on the line with the eye symbol (name="evenement" in the xml code). It has never shown anything for me or in any screenshot I've seen.
* On the calendar line, two things... My appointment texts are always at least two lines, and you can see the topmost pixel row of the second text line between the calendar and profile areas on the skin, not so neat (this is not visible when the calendar area is selected/grey. Secondly, when an appointment is not the current date, the only thing that fits on the calendar area is the time adn date, and no information about which appointment it's talking about. I think this would be solved nicely by expanding the calendar area to two lines of text.
* On the network/date line: if you use the (Swedish) dateformat of 2003-03-05 the last digit is partly off the screen, it would be nice to have this just a few pixels more to the left so it would fit onscreen.
* It would be nicer with 8 16x16 icons than 4 32x32, in my opinion (this would also give the extra line for the calendar).
* Perhaps it's possible to hide the bottom area (below the recent programs icons) when no program icon is selected?

Otherwise as stated earlier, a very good looking and well thought out skin!

I can answer this - the eye symbol is for "all day events" - like birthdays, holy days, salary day, etc.

I use this feaure qutie a bit - but you obviously do not smile.gif

You should try it - I like to use "all day events" for appointments that....last all day smile.gif

I have all my birthdays and holydays set like this - it's kind of difficult to set an appointment for a certain time of day when it's a birthday or christmas day - because you can't set this to i.e 2-6 in the afternoon - it's an all day event.

Kind regards
Dr. Ralph

Thanks for the explanation Dr. Ralph! Now I understand the use of it, of course it should have it's place on the home screen.

I made a 'hack' (changed the XML and some of the images) of the SmartOS skin earlier today, which solved most of my issues:
* changed the Most Recently Used icons to 16x16 (8 icons displayed)
* expanded the calendar area to double the size, allowing for 3 lines (one line of time+date and two lines of descriptoin)
* moved the top date a little to the left so the YYYY-MM-DD format fits

I didn't find any solution to my last point (to hide the 'name' of the current MRU icon selected, when no icon is actually selected).

I'll try to make a screenshot of this if anyone's interested..?

I'm not sure how to turn it into a distributable HME file, and I wouldn't distribute it without explicit permission from Jayz2k. (I'd rather see him making an updated version of it if he wants too.)

It would be nice if you could post the edited file - so we could DL it ?

Or maybe Jay Z could check it out - and make an edited version of his ever so excellent theme smile.gif
