Somebody can tell me when this new smartphone will be available in GSM band? Because I think the following phone is still in 800/1900Mhz band :?. He is called SCH-i600. Also I found it as SGH-i600 on an Italian website...
Somebody got more infos??

I think I read that it was for US usage only...
The manual at the end says "Licensed by Qualcomm"... this sould mean CDMA (Qualcomm owns CDMA tehcnology), which means US only. If it looks like an SPV, it's because it runs on MS Smartphone 2002... from now on any phone running on MS OS, will look the same.. but you know what, any PC running XP kind of look the same too, that didn't restrain different manufacturers from building their own PC... |

This phone's screen is a lot more protected. Thats a plus.
Still no built-in bluetooth. Thats a minus x 2. We have the year 2003 in a couple of days - not 1996. -------------------- Now this phone can only get better ....

no phones that use Smartphone 2002 will ever have bluetooth as standard because the OS doesn't have the functionallity - they would have to add bespoke software from each manufacturer to do it - and why would they want to do that when they can wait a month and then sell you the software and the addapters for £50.
Not that i'm totally synical - part of the reason was that no one could agree on the standards for blue tooth (was it phone functionality like the address book of was it part of the GSM processing?) so MS decided to leave it out and let people add it on when it settled down!! |
