is this a 'standard' connection (the one on the base of the phone, top of the camera?

If so, could someone enlighten me on specs?

i think someone said something about XDA (if i got that name right) connection being same and pc->sp usb charger and no-cradle data cable availiblee for it.. and some adaptors maybe availible too... have a look

I know it's used on the XDA, it's the 'standard' of the connector i am after.
