Does anyone's VF Omnia phone do this? I have another one on Orange and have no problem.

Lock the keypad. Press the hard power off button on the top of the phone quicky. The screen goes black but it doesnt swicth off. Quckly press it again to bring the phone back.

The soft key in the bottom left hand corner no longer says 'unlock' but says 'close'. I cannot unlock the phone, cannot power off and have to take the battery out to use my phone again. You might think this is no big deal but the power off bottom gets accidentally pressed in my pocket all the time

How can I stop this...?

Worth bumping this as a friend of mine has the same issue with his Vodafone Omnia I have seen it happen after a call.
The unlock button does appear after awhile but its not instant and can take a few minutes and furious button pressing by the user from what I have seen.
Sounds like a specific ROM issue.

Also title of topic changed to be a bit more descriptive.

I Don't know if you have any software installed. I experienced similar behaviour of my Omnia after upgrading the Rom to DXHI3 and having SPB-shell installed. Last weekend the phone locked about 3 times and I got fed up with it. One Hard reset and just waiting to see what's happening now, it's up and running without problems for about 18 hours. For sure in my case it's probably a software bug but still have to find out if it's due to spb-shell.

Just for the record: When the phone locked the left soft key showed "cancel" and I was still able to soft reset. Pushing "End Call" for a long time didn't work.

The user is a complete noob and no extra applications or ROM updates have been installed.
I will suggest the end call and see what happens, forgot to try that.
Cheers smile.gif I'll report back if I hear anything else.
