Sometimes BJ II is dead for no reason. The screen is still on but all the keys dont' respond. When I was using pocket pc, a quick way to fix this is to soft set it. However, I am unable to find a way to soft set my BJ II. I try to hold the power button for several seconds but nothing happens. The only think i can do is to pull out the battery and then put it back again. Is there anyway to soft reset BJII without pulling out the battery? Thanks!

I would think that pulling out the battery would be the only way to go if the device is not responding at all.

Correct, if waiting for a long time incase of severe slowdown there is still no responce then pulling the battery is the ony solution.

I've always had to pull the battery.

I wonder if you experience the same problems my wife and I do here?

What is the state of the battery when the phone freezes? low battery level could be possible cause.

Mine happens even with a battery with almost a full charge.

How long have you had the phone, if its within 30 days I would take it back to wherever you got the phone. AT&T store, Wal-Mart, whichever, I'm sure they would help you out becuase of this issue.

It's been more than 30 days. And lately, I've been noticing that the freezing happens more when the phone has been locked. I haven't been locking my phone as much for the last two days and I haven't had one freeze-up.

I know I'll find the real culprit sometime in the future smile.gif

Well I know it has not been more than a year, Samsung has a one year warranty on the Blackjack II, your best bet right now is to call Samsung and let them know about the issue.

I posted in another section, thought it might be helpful.

If your screen will not unlock, press the (fn) button, I have noticed that the (fn) key still works when the keys are locked. If the (fn) key gets accidentally pressed 2 times, it locks the keys to the (fn) setting ie. a=/ b=# and so on. so when you are trying to press (s) it is actually pressing (*) which, strangely enough, dose not unlock the phone; you have to press (fn) and then press (s) to unlock the phone. This is just my understanding from trial and error.

Another thing could be that you're running a lot of programs in the background and not know it. Since a lot of WM programs don't have and "EXIT" option you have to manually stop the program.

To do this just hold down the "home" key (the one with the house on it) and that will open the task manager. Then just stop the programs you aren't using, or you can hit "Menu" -> "Stop All" to stop all extra programs.
