I have finaly managed to unlock my phone with out resorting to patched rom files. What you need to do is:-
1) Contact Orange Developers and ask for a Security level changer. 2) Set your security level to low. 3) Download BreakSoft Mobile Registry Editor, see below. 4) Connect your phone to your computer and run the Registry Editor 5) Change the following keys HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies0001001 -> Change the value data to 1 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies0001005 -> Change the value data to 40 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies0001017 -> Change the value data to 144 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \Security\Policies\Policies -> Add new value "0000101b": Dword = 1 6) Unplug your phone and restart it. You should now be fully application unlocked!

I really dont know, i think it would be unlikly but you can try anyway. They can only say no, unfortunatly the software will only work with the phone with the correct IMEI number so you cant even try somebody else's.

Interesting - finally turned up this eve. Wouldn't work on Vista but did on SBS2003. BUT I had the option of High, Low or "Security Disabled" Taking the 3rd option and looking at teh registry I have the following (in red) settings:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies\00001001 -> Change the value data to 1 1 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies\00001005 -> Change the value data to 40 127 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies\00001017 -> Change the value data to 144 4294967295 - yup that is correct! HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \Security\Policies\Policies -> Add new value "0000101b": Dword = 1not present I then used spv-developers tools to unlock my phone and am now using my T-Mob SIM no probs Thanks for your help. Thats a crazy value! That's what I thought! QUOTE I ment to say that this one needs to be added, woops I understood that but using the tool it does not get added. What does this key do? How can I check if my phone is fully unlocked?QUOTE Glad it worked out i havent gone as far as to try a different sim i was only going as far as the application unlock but i didnt fancy the idea of using patched roms. the spv-developer tool just patches your existing ROM - no flashing involved and takes less than a minute once it's app unlocked. Thamks again for your help. -------------------- He who asks a question looks foolish for 5 minutes. He who doesn't ask a question remains foolish forever.

Hi everyone.
On the C550/ C500, the 'Certificate Security disabling tool' from Orange provides 3 options (aka Security Levels): 1. Low Security 2. High Security 3. Security Disabled
snap1574.jpg ( 17.85K )
Number of downloads: 65From what I can recall, using 'Security Disabled' option is sufficient enough to have the phone run in so-called 'app-unlocked' state. In particular, the tool will: 1. Allow RAPI access (in effect, you can unlock the registry using SDA Security Unlocker) HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies :00001001=dword:1 2. Allow unsigned Applications to run (you can run apps not signed with 'trusted' certificates) HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies :00001006=dword:1 3. Allow unsigned CABS to install HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies :00001005=dword:127 An 'unlocked' registry would have the following values HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies :00001001=dword:1 HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies :00001005=dword:127 HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies :00001006=dword:1 HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies :00001007=dword:64 HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies :00001008=dword:1 HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies :00001009=dword:3 HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies :0000100b=dword:3024 HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies :0000100c=dword:2048 HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies :0000100d=dword:3072 HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies :0000100e=dword:64 HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies :0000100f=dword:3216 HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies :00001011=dword:1 HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies :00001013=dword:1 HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies :00001017=dword:4294967295 HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies :00001018=dword:22 HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies :00001019=dword:140 HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies :0000101a=dword:0 HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies :0000101b=dword:1 HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies :00001021=dword:3072 A locked one: HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies :00001001=dword:2 HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies :00001005=dword:64 HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies :00001006=dword:0 HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies :00001007=dword:64 HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies :00001008=dword:1 HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies :00001009=dword:3 HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies :0000100b=dword:3024 HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies :0000100c=dword:2048 HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies :0000100d=dword:3072 HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies :0000100e=dword:64 HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies :0000100f=dword:3216 HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies :00001011=dword:1 HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies :00001013=dword:1 HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies :00001017=dword:128 HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies :00001018=dword:16 HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies :00001019=dword:140 HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies :0000101a=dword:0 HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies :00001021=dword:3072 If you have the 'Orange tool'...you are lucky. You can just use 'Security Disabled' then to ensure you have a fully unlocked phone, run SDA Security Unlocker (allows access to protected Smartphone registry entries) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Init HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\WDMDrivers HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services HKEY CLASSES_ROOT (device specific) One might ask... why not just run the SDA Unlocker? Theoretically, a phone under 'High Security' state won't allow RAPI access, thus SDA tool won't be able to do its thing. If the latest C600 ROM allows the 'HTC-signed' PHM Registry Editor (RegSTG) to run on the device error-free, then change HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies :00001001=dword to 1 and use the SDA Tool on your PC while phone is docked. -------------------- Jakult everyday, everyday OK!

I have managed to change the registry entries buit I still get the unasigned app warning and can't run. I am wondering if my security prog is faulty. When I installed it it was on disabled. If I change it to high or low security it says that it has enabled them but when I go back into the security prog it still says disabled.
Is this correct? I would have thought it should stay on whatever setting you put it on. Is there a way of checking what your security level is. Help please! I have found out that when I turn my phone off and on again the registry entries return to the original settings? Simon. This post has been edited by simon11: Nov 20 2006, 20:01 |

Thats the problem with the C600 with the latest ROM PHM Registry editor has been blacklisted so it wont work no matter what you do to the phone. The instructions i posted above should work on a C600 with the latest rom to fully application unlock the phone, or at least unlocked enough to run WM5Storage which i beleve is one of the best tests for weather a phone is propaly unlocked. I didnt really want to use the SDA Unlocker app, i prefered to know what was being changed on my phone. I did try just setting the security to disabled but it wouldnt let me run any unsigned apps.
