I don't know folkes but, this phone is pretty goofy.

I've had it only for a week now and not only can't i transfer pictures via bluetooth to my mac...which my BB pearl did and that phone can barely make phone calls but, i can't even get the phone to recognize my micorSD card where i have a sh*t load of music and pictures.

U can't even do a multiple recipients in the email department so to forward an email to...i don't know...say...more than one person at a time????

On top of that the calendar shows one event at a time...i've never seen that before, and only goes a day in advance. Also i've never seen that.

It's so slow that i can cook faster than this phone loads a menu.

please tell me how i can use the nokia e71 on the fido network and still get my unlimited email and unlimited voice plan.

thank you.

Oh, and if any of you have any suggestions on how i can transfer pics off of this phone (besides emailing them out cause that errors out) without having to call NASA and get them to hack my phone and retrieve the pics that my gf wants, i'd be very very grateful. Believe me. smile.gif

Maybe a defective phone? haha, the microSD card shouldn't be a problem. I have an 8gig, which is the biggest you can get...transferring pics is easy too...either use the cable that came with it or slip the SD into ur computer or an SD reader...

I don't know much about the e-mail...but im sure theres a way

Calender view can show week, month, or agenda view, and if there are overlapping times of two different items...it will show both. And it shows the next closest thing...like mine is showing a yard i have to mow on 7/3/08? Now if you are talking about one of samsung's home screens, thats a different story.

My phone is super fast. In task manager i currently have 14 items running...no problem

Hope it helps

I've never understood why people who have Macs by Windows phones.
Or why people who want features that are available on Nokias that WM doesn't do well ever change from Nokias. They are very different devices.
If the card was formatted on a different device it might have a problem but the simple answer is to ditch the MAC and get a real computer.

Or go back to Nokias.

With nearly six thousand posts under ur belt i'd figure that u'd understand how the phone industry works but...then again maybe not. (ur answer was extremely useless)

Let me explain it to you...

I have the fido unlimited voice plan..okay...no one offers this anywhere else. I also have the fido unlimited email plan...many phone carriers offer this. In order to keep my unlimited voice plan...because after all i do make between 1000 to 1500 minutes worth of calls a month...i have to stay with fido. okay..we're good so far??? wink.gif

In order to continue getting my unlimited email i have to use a fido handset because if i don't, i will get charged additional data that i'll have to pay for...supposedly. And in order for the email to remain "free", i have to use a fido branded handset because they IMEI lock they're phones..apparently. AND...they offer ONLY two handsets with full keyboards. And both have Windows Rubbish 6.0 on them....NOW...

This bothers me very very much because as much you don't wanna see me bitchin' about how lame this phone is, i don't wanna be using it. Even though i figured out the media card thing (just restart the phone) and i discovered Facade (with a serial number wink.gif, and the app unlock thing and the graphics and system speed boost hacks, it's still windows mobile...hence why im a mac user..

And that's another thing...I can't believe there are people out there still using windows...a barely sustainable archaic OS from the 70s...lol...At least go and use Ubuntu or something till u learn how to use a real os.

Anyway...So my question to ya'll is...is there anyway around this IMEI lock so i can use any phone i want...and have my email plan intact?

OR is any of this IMEI # locking rubbish even true????

What would happen if id just simply set up email on another phone???
would it work?

thanx for any info you guys can share..

hey, im not a fan of windows, but i do find it practical.

now on the the help. Fido uses a SIM card correct? I wouldn't think it would just be much trouble changing phones, I mean it would have to be unlocked or Fido branded, but in theory that part will work fine. Now SOME phone information IS sent to the carrier (I use at&t and when you go into your account, it shows the phone im currently using. If I put my SIM in a Motorola Q, it would show that...and so forth, but it is manually changable) but I don't know if specifically the IMEI is. They could just log this info when you buy the phone, and it just shows that it's regestered to you. IMEI locks only pertain to phones, not SIM cards...and they cant lock a phone if your SIM isn't in it. Do you see what I mean? I think they just say that to scare you. You would still be using Fido, and if they didn't know, they shouldn't have any reason to suspect any different. But if you do get another phone, and copy the network settings in, just like the blackjack 2 currently has, then I believe everything should be fine...without extra data charges.

Oh! and hey, the iPhone 3G will be hittin Fido and Rodgers July 11th!

hope it helps,

hahahahahahahahahahah you come into a WINDOWS MOBILE forum and start bashing people for using windows, and then expect help. That's funny, why don't you go to a mac forum and you can all sit around singing kum bi ya. That might solve your problem.

Or better still, why don't you either
a ) Try your SIM in another (unlocked) phone if that's what you want. I would be very suprised if youy couldn't get it to work. The IMEI is sent to the carrier which is how phones can be blocked and in most (if not all) countries it is illegal to change the IMEI of a phone. But I 'doubt' (I am no expert on Fido) if they would use the IMEI to track your phone as it is way to much trouble - I know of no other carrier that does.
or
b ) Ask for help sorting out your problems instead of just whinging about them. I was so p!ssed off by the time I got to your final paragraph that I couldn't be bothered to answer. You obviously will never be happy with a WM device even though it can do everything you want so there is very little point wasting our time trying to help you.

1) Don't go over to someone else's yard to play on their swings and start out by complaining that it squeeks!

If he wants help, he'll get it. If he just wants to whinge he can but there's no point in wasting time on him if he doesn't want to know how to solve his problems.

Dude i work at fido, add on the 6GB option for $30 dollars onto your city fido plan and your set, unlimited calls, practically unlimited surfing, you have a killer mobile device. Theres a lot of great software and GPS hacks on the Jack, also 6.1 will be released on it very soon so the issues you mentioned are resolved. That or wait for the nokia E71 which we will be getting by the end of August. Cheers
