Orange: Welcome to Orange, please press 1 for this, 2 for that, 3 for the other. Me: Orange: Please press 1 for the other, 2 for that, 3 for that. [You get the general idea... 20 minutes later] Orange: Hello, how can I help you? Me: I'd like to upgrade my phone please. I quite fancy a E650 Orange: Certainly may I have your details please [details given] Orange: I'll just pass you over to our upgrades department Orange: Hello Mr. X. How can I help you? Me: I'd like to upgrade my phone please. I quite fancy a E650 Orange: Certainly. If you switch to this new call plan, which gives you 500 minutes, 200 texts and 5Mb data, you can upgrade for £50... And the contract will only cost £5 more a month. Me: I use my phone for data mostly, and have 10Mb at the moment. How much would it cost me to upgrade if I stayed with my current call plan? Orange: Me: Excellent. But I'm not sure I want an 18 month contact, how much would it cost me if I only had a 12 month contract? Orange: Me: Okay. I'll do that please. Thank you for your help. Cheeky buggers! |

So far, they seem to be accomodating everyone that's upgraded fairly well. I haven't heard of anyone being charged for the handset (yet).
