l have my phone and itis asking me for
Network is locked, please input unlock code

If you are not using your Orange SIM, it will not work.

You will need to unlock it before it can accept any SIM cards.

See http://www.imei-check.co.uk however there may be some free solution out there.

am using http://www.ug.celtel.com/en/ as my sim card and l got the Cellphone from UK
and l have also MTN http://www.mtn.co.ug/

Check www.xda-developers.com for an unlock. It's an old phone now, but some versions of 'xda unlock' on that site for FREE work with the m500 but * you must research it* as IIRC some people with m500's had trouble with the unlocker!
