a search for "geotag" in this forum would have brought this up
http://www.modaco.com/content-page/273010/...s-here/page/20/

if you are using firefox, install this EXIF reader add on https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3905
then load your geotagged picture to firefox (just drag and drop it)
then right click on the image and click View Link EXIF data.
then click the link to google earth to verify that your geotag location is correct

I think I should have posted here...

I read that the geotagging issue is solved in HI3 (at least it seems you get the correct coordinates)... but has anyone already tried to upload the geotagged pictures to picasaweb, or flickr, or panoramio, or...

Does that work too?

Not sure which of the issues - the hemisphere issue is fixed, but the co-ordinates are off by about 500-1000m. if extras is enabled then the fix is accurate.

Also picture (or vid) quality is not good - sort of blurry which of previous roms was sharp and clear.

I confirm that geotagging works fine now with DXHI3! If you upload the pictures taken into picasaweb, they are shown in the map, at exactly the right place (at least when I tested).

Only annoying thing is still that the camera does not start up until the GPS has locked a position mad.gif

I've been looking in the register to see if I find something driving that, but without success so far... anyone with more expertise who has any ideas how to get around this? Just for the clarity, the idea is to have the same as in ROM's pre DXHI1: when GPS is set to ON, the camera starts, and you see a grey "satellite icon" until it has a lock (=> white satellite). Means that you would be able to keep the GPS option ON all the time, and still take pictures inside or without waiting for a fix...
