Hey guys

whats the default settings for the above rom? I can't get google maps or anything to lock. Can someone with this rom (DXHI3) please tell me what they have for the:

External GPS -

GPS Program Port
GPS Hardware Port and Baud rate

I have tried forum search and google search and none of the results work.

Also, can someone tell me where to confirm the radio rom version?

Cheers!

Manage GPS Automatically.

p/s:
1. you need to be outdoor to get gps satalite
2. googlemap requires internet connection, so you need not disable GPRS.

Settings->System->Version

Cheers!

there are plenty of post for GPS setting here and everyone still prefer to open new post... answers in the quoted message.

i think googlemap is just a mapping software, it doesn't come with tracking and routing, does it? i'm using garmin mxt and still happy with it.

in addition, you need to connect to internet (either wifi or gprs), and go Settings->System->Enhanced GPS. enable XTRA; leave autodownload as disable and press the XTRA data download button. you'll know the download is completed when the "busy" icon disappear.

after all the above, start your navigation system and it should works fine.

.....

Thank you!

All i needed to know was Com3/Com9/baud rate.

And yes, the searches I did came up with nothing that worked.... why is that so hard to believe? I have found so many hits with people giving diferent settings, I tried about 10 times and after about 2 hours standing in the cold I gave up (understandably). The simple fact of the matter was, like so many people on forums you over answered the question without actually answering the question ... which you have now done, thank you!

Sadly, my battery is now flatter than a thin crust pizza so I will try these tomorrow after charging.

wtf: I've tried to put this edit in about 3 times now and each time its not updated -
Sorry, also to add that as you embedded your answer in my quotes I missed it and for that I appologise but can I recommend you don't do this as its very easy to miss.

Just stood outside on the top of an open air car park and the settings didn't work.

Route 66 says no GPS detected
GoogleMaps - never gets a lock

Guess these don't work for my rom, are you on exactly the same version?

Hi, Try com2 instead of com3 because com3 is alocated to a IR port. In com9 (hardware) change baud rate from 4800 to 34800 (i've DXH12).

Just to confirm, I've got the same problem with DXHI3. Worked fine under DXHI1.

Didn't find a solution yet, I will paly arround with the gps-settings (althouth R66 is searching itself for gps-hardware, so no need to change any settings).

Also sorted it out, with the standard settings (Com 3/ Com 9 / 4800).

I deleted the GPSID_log.txt and xtra.bin (after a soft reset) and the satellites were found again.
