So the work continutes on my custom Omnia ROMs, which will show in 'Version' with version numbers starting MCR (= MoDaCo Custom ROM)...

This is the third custom ROM, based on DTHJ9.

Changes from stock DTHJ9:

- Removed Windows Update
- Removed Welcome Center
- Removed MS Sample Music
- Removed .net CF 2.0
- Removed Shozu
- Added .net CF 3.5
- Added Remote Desktop Mobile
- Added AppToDate
- Added Donate
- Optimised Samsung applications
- Optimised OneNote
- Optimised Office
- Optimised Other Core applications
- Customised version display (MoDaCo Custom ROM 3 = MCR03)
- Added MoDaCo to default RSS feeds
- Added MoDaCo WinMo Week to default Podcasts
- Scientific calculator is back in

Known issues:

None as yet wink.gif

Update format:

- Executable for Windows XP... ensure you have the Samsung Modem Driver installed before use!

Included:

- DXHJ9/MCR03 PDA / CSC
- XXHJ1 Radio

Stats after fresh boot:

Storage Memory: 102.02MB total, 68.18MB free
Program Memory: 97.27MB, 59.09 free

Feedback welcome smile.gif

I know lots of people are waiting for a 'clean ROM', but I'm not sure there's a huge amount of benefit. I removed Shozu as it was running at boot, most of the other stuff just sits there until you need it... and we're not exactly short of space are we? wink.gif

Hats off to everyone who made this possible, secany, mrtoto, the PDAMobiz peeps and anyone else i've left out wink.gif

Please check out this post for more info...

If you use this ROM, please consider donating £1 to my 'quidapps' effort to develop cheap, useful applications and tweaks - click here to donate. Donations will be used specifically to buy development tools to enable slicker and more advanced tweaks, applications and ROMs in the future while retaining a £1 price point!

benefit for a clean rom would be people could customise it exactly how they want... for example... i myself do not use apptodate or batti so the addition of these into your custom rom is useless for me! also... i am sure that there are peeps who would have no use for rdp.

Ah yes, but how clean is clean? wink.gif My clean is not your clean etc. etc., hehe.

ATD has to be useful so you know when there's a new ROM build out no?

GPS Tweaks etc. WTFH... i'm preparing a performance tweaks pack (which includes that) for the next ROM.

Just going off at a slight tangent...is there a way to stop Shozu loading at boot? I've looked in Memmaid for it's start up item but don't recognize it.

I downloaded it Paul. I'm loading it after I'm done posting this. I'd like to see what this offers, plus I'm sure I can help.

I have SK Tools and I went to disable it in the start up but it was not allowed so I went to the launch sequence and deleted the string in launch item 140 and it is done. go to HKLM\init\ and delete the string for launch 140 and you will be good to go

downloading~ tongue.gif thanks Paul!

btw, my Omnia was quite good on your last rom(HJ1 custom), but somehow it can't sleep.

i mean the screen are dim after 1 minute, but the device won't turn off itself after 2 minutes, the screen are still on.

Only hard-reset could get it back to normal.

Power settings:

Turn off backlight: 1 minute
Turn off device: 2 mintues

I don't know if it was a bug, but i only have this problem on your custom rom.

Anyway, much appreciate all your work! ;)

No, their size is optimised in ROM, so it's not relevant as something to do afterwards.

Is the "touch player" issue solved in this release?
