Just posted this over in the Lounge, looking to test with a subset of the membership before posting it on the main page.

http://www.modaco.com/content/the-lounge/276153/help-me-out/

If the Omnia isn't listed with your combination of carrier etc., selecting another PPC device will sort you out. Nifty!

Let me know what you won! biggrin.gif

As suggested by Paul the HTC, and to Paul, thanks very much for the info. I shall go get now. And thanks for the mass email that let me know about this heh.

Oh but wait now this is silly. Coz I got my omnia with vodafone the HTC options in vodafone are MTeoR and TyTN. Can i use any service provider then the cab will be the same surely ?

Paul..

me again, i tried doing this, but when i get link to site for the app for my phone, vodafone bloacks me saying i cant see this type of content.

Went on vodafone live, logged in. Tried to change my content settings at a charge of a quid. Thing was, it said credit card, didnt realise til after i keyed in my visa debit card details.

Need to get on blower and speak to voda.

Tomorrow, i sort it mate. Got my membership number etc.

Oh, i chose TyTn, as Paul quite plainly said, the Omnia i900 is NOT listed.

Doomlord ...

As far as I'm aware, the email was a forum newsletter, which was targetted specifically at the appropriate userbase. That said, I did get two copies of the email, but I think I'm the only one.

@ Paul

I have removed my content filter from Vodafone. Installed the app and now waiting for a confirmation email. I will email you back when i have my confirmation email and what i have won.

Thanks for the heads up.

Oh. Moderators & Paul, is this SPAM?? If so, can i ask why this is happening? I thought this was a reputable site, didn't think Paul was like that?

Please explain!

Well, spam is unsolicited email. When you join Modaco, or most other forums, you have a little check box you can tick (or is it untick) for admins to contact you by email from time to time. If you don't want email from paul then change your email preferences.

Thanks for the obvious info mate, but i couldn't care less if you knew my IP, thats 3 mobile broadband IP, not mine.

And i didn't tick any boxes ok!?

I assumed Paul sent an email to a selected few people from Modaco website, is this classed as spam??

All mails are sent in accordance with the user preferences for contact by administrators.

I always include an automated unsubscribe link too (altho I used a new mailer this time and so forgot, my bad...)

Just like i thought. But to be honest, just checked my settings, and couldn't find any such preferences.

No mind.

Thanks Paul

If you want to remove the option to recieve updates from admins by email do the following:

Click My Controls then scroll to the bottom of the page, on the left hand side underneath the options menu you'll find "Email settings"
untick the box that says "Send a notification email when I receive a new private message
Enabling this option will send an email notification of any new private messages sent to you."

Sorted.

On the other hand, I got a free £5 voucher from Amazon.. I think I'll leave mine ticked smile.gif
