Can you try to do the upgrade from an XP machine with the XP version from the samsung site? There are a lot of reports of programs crashing under Vista while upgrading the rom. And I've never heard of something that asked me to remove my battery... |

You don't necessarily need a computer that has XP installed on it.
I have Vista but run a virtual machine with XP on it. check out this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pcCIT1NensU...feature=related This post has been edited by MrJoneswii: Jan 17 2009, 20:30 |

Guys, I had a problem upgrading from HI3 to HK3. I plugged the phone to synchronize with activesync then I pressed the button Start. All the steps were completed and apears in the top of the program "Job Done".
Afterthat the phone starts to self reboot constantly. I am afraid to burn it so I removed the battery. What I have to do ? Help me! |

You have problem same as mine;
I upgrade OS using Samsung Upgrade EXE Updater; but after running this updater; the phone stop at "Samsung OMNIA" srceen (Active sync can't detect the Phone); my solution is install SAMSUNG Modem to XP Computer; then use Grandpix to up another OS; first time I up original OS and after confirm that any OS can work well; I up the newest OS DXIA1; it's working too! sorry for bad english. Hi and thanks for your post ... Can you please give me the link where I can get SAMSUNG Modem so I install it on Windows XP? Same for Grand pix. Where did you get DXIA1, I have downloaded it but contains the following files: - Bootimage_i900DXIA1.nb0 - CSC_i900DZIA1.csc <- (why DZ and not DX) - i900_Phone_DXHL3.bin <- (that's strange) - PDA_i900DXIA1.bin If you have another source, I'll be grateful if you give me the link thanks in advance, To conclude, I do need a Windows XP Thx, P. Update: For GrandPix : http://rapidshare.com/files/165090645/i900_1.6.4.rar For SAMSUNG Modem : ? This post has been edited by Preceptor: Jan 18 2009, 14:51 |

Clean ROM IA1 : http://mail.niit.vn/share/TuanMA/i900-IA1_QB02a-HL3.7z.zip (from QBus)
Manila2D (from Khuanchai@Modaco) you can get from this forum; or from my mirrored link: http://mail.niit.vn/share/TuanMA/M2D_IA1_20931_Full.zip http://mail.niit.vn/share/TuanMA/M2D_IA1_20931_Lite.zip Samsung modem you can extract from Samsung Exe file or download at: For Vista (x86 / x64) http://mail.niit.vn/share/TuanMA/SamsungModem_VISTA.rar For XP: http://mail.niit.vn/share/TuanMA/SamsungModem_XP.rar You cannot run Samsung Update file because of ActiveSync can not detect the Phone; I run the ROM file listed above then it's OK; please install driver first; then turn off the Phone; run the EXE file; finally plug the i900 phone to PC and turn on. This is a tutorial; but in Vietnamese; I followed this tutorial to upgrade my phone. http://pdaviet.net/showthread.php?t=38314 This post has been edited by Omnia i900: Jan 18 2009, 15:28 |

Here are some news ... bad news ...
I have installed Smsung Modem for Vista ... to make a test I wnted to see if my Omnia would be detected ... the good thing that I say my omnia appear in a small square (bottom right) then I unplugged my omnia and decided to run the M2D_IA1_20931_Full.zip unfortunately ... it showed several time out (after I have followed the steps) and finally concluded that it cannot find my device ... So I decided to uninstall the samsung modem driver and reinstall it again as I have never done it before. Unfortunately, my phone is not detected anymore (no more more notification from my computer). Any idea on how to erase the trace of omnia that it was already plugged to my computer? Thanks in advance, P. |

You should upgrade on XP machine; because many people get problem on Vista; I have Vista laptop and use the modem to share Internet GPRS connection but I used to upgrade my phone with XP.
did your phone still stuck at "SAMSUNG Omnia" screen again? so it's normal you can do the same work at XP machine; |

As I said, my mobile was recognized the first time (still have hope then) Do you mean that you believe even with xp, I will still be stuck at "SAMSUNG Omnia" screen? We agree that when you upgrade, it is not an "update" in the meaning of applying a patch, but replacing the whole system, right? thanks again, I am thinking of using xp for this (have a friend who have xp). |

Thanks a lot Omnia i900, the vietnamese web site is really good (translated with google)
Cross your fingers all ... Does the dxia1 improve the battry life? Because my phone doesn't last more than 24 hours, even less I would say ... and without using it at all (no wifi no bluetooth), no weather application (not even installed yet) in several countries (France, UK, Belgium, Luxemburg, Germany ...) |

I'm a bit late joining this thread but I had the same problem myself (stuck on omnia screen).
After panic subsided and I searched for a bit I loaded Lufieg's clean rom (read a thread and it was suggested that this would load correctly and solve the problem). Loaded flawlessly and works fantastic. |

After panic subsided and I searched for a bit I loaded Lufieg's clean rom (read a thread and it was suggested that this would load correctly and solve the problem). Loaded flawlessly and works fantastic. my omnia wont power on after rom flash. ive been reading here and there looking for m2d with a striped down version rom anticipating better battery life until finally decided to flash my omnia with m2d04_PaS08. i thought i was going to do ok until the process stopped at rebooting the PDA. but my omnia never did boot. been waiting for too long (almost an hour left by it self connected to usb). so i took it off and try to power on my omnia. it wont turn on. my prev rom was DZHH3. i flashed DZHH3 right after i got it from the shop. right now the phone is cold. unable to turn the power on. my winxp wont detect it on usb connect because the phone cant power on. it was fully charged before the flashing. i didnt hard reset it before the flashing (i thought i wanted to retain my data on my storage) im dead on what to do because there is nothing i could do when the phone could not power on. please help. |
