Dutty's or Swift ROM..., Your opinions, not matter how subjective, would help.

Which ROM is better for speed and reliability? I know most on XDA seem to be suing Swift 6 at the moment, but would like to hear your opinions too...

Thanks,

F.

I have tried both, out of those two i would choose dutty. However take a look at Swtos. I have V1.0 extreme installed at the moment and it is extremely fast.

Look at this page. Read it thoroughly. Twice!

If you brick your device. Don't blame me.

The first thing you need to do is to get a copy of PIMBackup, i am using version 2.8.0.0. Backup your device because installing a new ROM because it will be wiped. The Internal Storage is NOT affected at all.

HARDSPL
Very Important
Follow the instruction from xda-dev
Install the HARDSPL from the link. I am using the version that xda developers have provided a link to "SPL-1.40.OliNex"

RADIO
Again follow the instructions from xda-dev.
It is likely that your Diamond has V1.00.25.03. I am currently using 1.00.25.07 which i find to be very good. 1.00.25.05 is just as good.

ROM - the fun bit
The ROMs come with everything you need. Choose the ROM you want. Download it and run the exe. Some just flash your phone straight away, while some ask you to confirm you agree with what you are about to do. Install the ROM and wait. I personally don't touch my laptop while it is doing it, go and make a cup of tea or have a beer. It will take about 10-15 mins. Generally the ROMs dont include the radio so your current radio you installed will not be touched. Some of duttys ROMs have radios included. If you install this it will replace your current one.

Have fun. You will be nervous the first time you flash your phone.

Hope that helps

Pete

Would totally disagree with this! wink.gif

My MDA Compact IV was horribly sluggish out of the box, TF3D was so unusable, I was about to revert to SPB Mobile Shell.

However, I bit the bullet and flashed Swiftblades latest ROM and this thing flies now!

Each to their own though biggrin.gif
