Hi Guys,
First off great forum, really helped me out over the last few days. Got an unbranded Omnia on Orange UK last week after using Symbian for the last few years, its been a bit of a challenge. Current ROM version says MSHG1. Now how old is that? Is there something newer for UK? Other than that question, everything else has been fine with it.... Thanks |

Check out the ROM sticky post for the download... P Ok, got the rom, backed up my stuff... Followed the instructions, but it refuses to see the phone, just says time out 5 times and PDA not found. This was on a Vista machine, so tried it on XP, and the rom updater doesn't even start. So back to scratching my head it seems.... |

You did install the modem driver on the PC I assume? There is a different one for XP and Vista. The advice seems to be to use an XP machine.
You also need Activesync (XP) WMDC (Vista) I believe. |

Yep all drivers and activesync are installed on the vista machine.
XP is a different matter, so I'll probably stick the cd in that later and get it installed. |

Well eventually got it on. Used XP in the end.
Would appear to be more smooth etc. Call quality seems the same to me. But then moving from O2 to Orange would seem different anyway. |

Hi all, i have been searching before i get flamed, but i cant find a definitive answer. My Omnia is running PDA DXHH1 and Phone XXHG5 and while generally pleased i do have the problem with the device not waking up so well from standby and wi-fi connection problems. What is the best ROM to use and can i update straight from my current configuration ?. Im not new to ROM updating, however the Samsung way of things appears to be very confusing after the relative ease of hard spl and use any rom you like as is the case with most HTC devices. My Omnia is a UK simfree device.
In other words can i just download and update to DXHI3 Thanks in advance.... Craig This post has been edited by csw43: Oct 11 2008, 12:28 |
