See article here.

I've seen one of these devices, and they're not bad. Kinda reminds me of the Ericsson R520, very thin, but quite long and with an external aerial.

EverlinkWireless seem to have a few phones coming out, including one Pocket PC one...

The platform of the others isn't mentioned, but I'm guessing it'll be a self-made one considering one is mono, and the other has a rather small screen...

I wonder if anyone will release a mono SmartPhone 2002?

I can't see any reason why that wouldn't work, and it would provide SP2002 with access to the low cost market? Manufacturing costs would be peanuts by comparison to our beautiful phones wink.gif

Question is, would people buy them?

It'd have to be changed a lot to suit, as the colour and stuff would make it difficult to read stuff off the phone, but it'd be possible...

That's not much of a change really, just a suitable default theme...

But pictures and stuff wouldn't work and WMP would be useless for videos, meaning it would only be suited for sound. A lot games wouldn't work too well either, so it wouldn't be much of a Smartphone...

Phone book with picture link.

I wish we has this. Although it really doesnt add any usefull functionality it would be quite cool. There is sooo much free space on the incomming call screen

I think mono is on the way out, progression towards full colour for everyone is where the market wants to be and this is being backed up with the fact that TFT is becoming cheaper as manufacturing will eventually be nothing but LED technology.

Finally, some information on the Compal. I read about it on the MS site months ago and haven't heard a thing since. I thought that it must have been an abandoned project.
