 compal dev kit

i have been waiting for a smartphone for ages and i am thinking of ordering the compal rede from the devkit website. If i have no plans to develop any software can i still use the phone? does the phone work normally? has anyone got the Compal RedE phone.. any help great cheers

It works fine as a normal phone, and you have to sign up as part of the MS developers forum to oder (although i don't think there are any prerequisites).

Just bear in mind it's a pre-production reference design, and expect thebugs that come with that...

I purchased the Dev Kit from Microsoft last month. Monolithix is correct, I slipped the SIM card from my t-Mobile phone into it and adjusted the network to the US band..(defaults to Europe). Worked great. However, I still find myself using my T-Mobile PPCPE everyday so if you are still looking for a dev kit phone and extras I am parting with mine at a better price than retail smile.gif . Let me know if you are interested...if not, then to ebay I go....
