Hello,

Since I'm expecting to make a lot of calls on my new Diamond (being on Orange's Racoon 35 and getting all my landline calls for free!), I bought myself a Jabra BT5010 Bluetooth headset to go with it (found it cheap on Play.com, cost me £9.99 delivered).

I managed to pair the devices OK, and sort out voice activated dialing etc.

I find that when I call someone, or when I use the headset to receive a call, during the time the phone is ringing it works fine.

However, just at the point where you most want to be able to hear whats going on (ie. when the other end picks up and says "hello") I get an annoying beep in my ear that oblierates the audio completely for maybe half a second. It only beeps once, but because it does it right when the other person starts talking, its really irritating - and I can't believe its by design.

But because I've never had a headset before, I'm not sure if its being caused by Windows Mobile, the HTC Diamond or the Jabra headset - or perhaps an unlucky combination of all 3 smile.gif

Has anyone else experienced this, and is there a way to turn it off?

Alternatively, if anyone could recommend a decent Bluetooth headset that I can comfortably wear for long periods of time (and that works OK with the Diamond!), that would be appreciated. Most of the time, I'm going to be using it sat at the desk in my study, so it doesn't particularly need to clip over one ear. It could just as easily be a proper call-centre type headset.

Cheers,

Steve.

The vibrate thing is an option in the "Phone" control panel. I don't mind that.

What I do mind is the beep that you get which stops you hearing what the other party is saying - sounds like you have called Gordon Ramsey presenting CBeebies. For example, dialing 150, I get "*beep* range... if you are calling about..." instead of "Welcome to Orange, if you are calling about".

Having read the reviews on Amazon for the Jabra BT5020 I'm beginning to think its a feature of the headset, and nothing to do with the phone (going to test it on my wife's Walkman phone later). Two reviews, both 1 out of 5 and moaning about the "beep".

But I've emailed Jabra to see what they have to say. Anyone using another brand of headset, do you get this?

Cheers,

Steve.
