Ok then, nobody said no to this idea so I may as well start it off!
This is how it's going to work: I have now started this topic which will list sites which are related to Pocket PC Phones and are useful and good. As you, the good people of Modaco, have a huge combined knowledge I will need you to help me out. PLEASE post any sites that you know (or indeed run!) which you would recommend to others to use and I will update this list accordingly. My main reason for doing this is that I'm reasonably new to this and don't know of many sites where I can get info, apps, games, ringtones, etc so you will be helping me and anyone else new who joins. Some of these sites will cover multiple topics. I won't duplicate links, I'll just put them where they fit best. Here we go then: APPLICATIONS & GAMES http://www.smesolutions.co.uk/modaco/shop.htm - The Modaco shop! Selling hardware, accessories and software http://www.handango.com/ - massive Pocket PC Software site. 10% off for Modaco + members http://www.phm.lu/ - Pocket PC tools inc registry editor Lakeridge site - For those wishing to keep an eye on the progress of WisBar Andvance Phone Edition www.dotpocket.com - Remote control app, control your PDA from your PC http://clickgamer.com - Pocket PC games and emulators http://pocketgear.com - Lots of apps and games http://www.freewareppc.com - Free apps and games http://www.pocketgamer.org - Pocket PC games and reviews www.pocketpcmag.com - click on best sites and you get an index of sites from games to themes SOUNDS http://www.coolsmartphone.com/index.php - Primarily Smartphone site but has large database of sounds THEMES http://www.pocketpcthemes.com/index.shtml - large list of free themes INFORMATION http://msmobiles.com/index.php/0,0,1.html - General news, always up to date but sometimes somewhat biased http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com - Unbiased general Pocket PC and PPC Phone Edition news http://www.tekguru.co.uk/phpBB2/index.php - More general PPC and PPC PE news As above PLEASE post a reply with any sites you know otherwise this topic is already dead. Disclaimer: This page is intended for links to sites relevant to Pocket PC Phones. I will check all sites before adding to this list but I cannot vouch for the contents of any sites linked from here. If admin could sticky this, that might be helpful  Also, if anyone has any advice on catergories or anything that could make this easier to read, I'm all ears. Thanks all! Keep trying Lakeridge, as it does go down from time to time.

Hi Chaps,
Great idea for a thread. Recently got my M2000 and now that I've worked out how to work everything on it, I'm on to downloading software and games. Just downloaded a Commodore 64 emulator from clickgamer.com. Means I can play some of the old games I played as a kid. Fantastic! Downloaded the games themselves direct to my M2000 from c64.com - Manic Miner, Jet Set Willy and Bruce Lee. If you're interested in Sega or Nintendo games, then try morphgear.com. pocketgear.com seems to have loads of stuff. There's also freewareppc.com though I don't know if it's any good, and of course the Modaco Software Games and Applications forums with other suggestions. Finally, on the main Modaco site, there are a number of forums specifically for third party software. Not sure which of these are also applicable though to pocket PCs. |
