My first Touch Pro was returned after a slight rattle in the earpiece. I put this down to a one off build problem.
The replacement has arrived this morning and there appears to be no shielding on the phone as the GSM Buzz (the sound you get from placing a mobile phone close to a loud speaker) is loud and clear through the phones own earpiece. So that will be returned on Monday but do I go for a 3rd? After all, £500 is a lot of cash so I expect the phone to be 100% and so far I have had 2 and both have had blatent hardware faults. So is the Touch Pro a lemon. Have HTC let their standard drop (in which case going for the Sony X1 may see the same build quality problems) or have I just been unlucky? So calling all owners. How it the build quality of your phone? |

It's interesting you post this as this morning, on it's 3rd day of ownership, the pen doesn't get magnetically sucked back into it's holder anymore.
As soon as it happened, it wouldn't go in, but then with a gentle push, it went in ok. no it's a little stiff, but it does go in, but without any magnetic magic. Also now, when the keyboard is open, theres a slight rattle but it stops when the KB is closed. A little dissapointed after 3 days! (Although apart from that, love it.) |

I've had mine for 1 week now on VF and there's no problems with build quality at all! It's great I love it!!
There are a couple of things I don't like about it, but that's another topic! I'll put them up later Neil |

OUt of interest, what do you not like about it? Also, can you use the main phone functions, eg text messaging, without needing the stylus at all?

The main thing to note is, I came to the Pro from the Hermes spv m3100 . . . so the slide out keyboard is the same but the things I don't like are:- 1 no scroll wheel! it would be good if someone could come up with a hack that used the volume keys (which are where the scroll key was on the Hermes) 2 the power key is in a different place (I am slowly getting used to that though!) 3 there's only one programable hardware key! That's about it really. As for doing texts without the stylus yes there are several text input methods, it just a case of sliding to messages then the new icon then text away! I personally use the hardware keyboard for text and emailing, which is easy to usse even though the keys are slightly smaller than the hermes Neil |

Many thanks Neil. I still have an O2 XDA Mini S! Trying to decide between the Touch Pro and the Nokia N85. Completely different I know! decisions decisions...! Two phones on top of their game but completely different in so many ways...
