Hi

Had my Kaiser for about 12 months now and recently is has begun to freeze up after certain programs have been closed.

This seems to happen only for a few applications. It started with Resco Sudoku, then Tom Tom and also Realplayer. Most other programs seem unaffected, and the ones that do cause problems never used to until recently.

Any suggestions before I have to hard reset?

are you actually closing the programs, or does it just minimise them?
what does "x" button (in settings menu) say it should do on tapping the "x" button?

This happens regardless of of how I actually close the programs. Whether I use the programs' Exit option or the the X button, or kill the app with a task manager, it still causes the system to hang and needs resetting.

do you have enough system memory?
Best way is to install all software to a memory card, and then just install to the phone's internal memory, if it won't work, or that's the only place the installer will let you.

Have you tried clearing out temporary files in apps (internet explorer for one)

Which apps do you have installed? could you list them?
