For those of you who don't know, Microsoft have responded to the Apple iPhone apps store and launched their own version.

Called windows mobile portal, it provides a nice little interface to see all the programs, and gives all sorts of information like promotional videos, links to external websites etc.

I don't see any version that will run on the device itself just yet, however if this is going to be a serious answer to what apple is doing, Microsoft will have to abandon the half hearted approach to reacting what the opposition are doing. We can only hope!

Anyway, take a look at the site here

Cheers

Phill

Pity they've designed it for nice low res monitors so it only fills the midle of the screen....

No problem...I'll just have to remember that Submit News isn't really 'active', or stop submitting until the service is more complete.

I submitted a couple of things a while ago and they never went anywhere - I don't think it works!

Well I cant remember how it came about exactly but there was something that didn't get reported and a few of us said we would help report news if we could.

Hence why I am now part of the "News Team"

I have links to everywhere I can think of that has anything to do with Windows Mobile, and then the usual happens we post it and then its reported on.

I have to admit tend to only do the stuff that interests me for news, as this is easier to write about, but then with the size of the team all the other bases should be covered.

News team members only get access to an extra forum where we can talk about our posts and what we might like to do and as well as help, but we don't (as yet anyway) have admin rights, so we cant move posts, lock topics etc which includes seeing all the submitted news. I believe Paul, and Awarner do this and no one else.

When (if ever) will this change? There is only one man who can answer this for you. Paul(MVP)!

As for the actual story, I guess I kind of missed the boat there but then I had not seen it anywhere before, so apologies about that. I'm guessing it *may* have been reported on Coolsmartphone in the past?

Cheers

Phill
