When I was running 6.0 I had my Vibrate profile set for everything to vibrate except my Alarm, which I wanted to play a sound for.
I did this so that I can set my phone to vibrate while I sleep (so late-night calls do not wake me up) but still have it wake me up at the appropriate time. Now, I don't see this option and I can't get my alarm to play a sound while it's on the vibrate profile. I tried setting my alarm in the Normal profile and it played a sound like I wanted it to but then I have my ringer loud and that is not good for when I'm sleeping. Any ideas? |

If you go into settings > profiles > scroll to vibrate and then choose "menu > edit", you can change all of the setting for vibrate. Is something missing? You could use Automatic and create a nightly calendar item for sleeping. Have the "sleep" schedule end before your alarm normally goes off and your phone will be back in normal mode, thus playing an alarm, not vibrate.. |

I believe the Alarm still goes off Audibly even if all the settings are Vibrate or Silent. For example, I hate being bugged by calls/txt/email at night so I put the phone on Silent before I sleep... but my alarm still goes off at 7am and wakes me up to the SexyBack ringtone!

i was having the same problem as you, but i'm going to look into what these guys are saying. also, i've noticed the alarm just not being loud at all. before 6.1 i had it set at the loudest and it was easily able to wake me up. i don't know, maybe i'm just imagining things and it really is the same volume.

Dshap is right, the "Alarm" setting has been removed from the profiles. When I selected the "Silent" profile, my Alarm did "not" sound. I used to have a profile, called "Sleep", that silenced everything except the Alarm sound, but now I can't figure out how to do that. Has anyone figured this out yet? |

I used to have a profile, called "Sleep", that silenced everything except the Alarm sound, but now I can't figure out how to do that. Has anyone figured this out yet? My nightly routine involves turning the radio OFF via Wireless Manager (which can now be easily done from the Home Page - Whoopee!) Cycle the phone OFF and On (this ensures that the phone WILL ring at the appointed time, regardless of what you've been doing with it) Plug it in to the charger (so I have a full day's juice in the morning) Check that the volume is at Max TahDah! nothing will disturb me until the morning alarm! This still works for me - probably 'cause I have the phone right by my head That said, I had also notices the drop in volume, but I thought it was because I hadn't installed the WOW driver yet. After reading the other posts, I think I will hold off and see if is a problem for others as well. (I'm all for doing my share, but I'm a day behind in my work courtesy of Verison's lousy WM6.1 upgrade tool that bricked my Wife's SGH-i760 For now, I have everything in the "Normal" Profile set at LOUD!! After the WM 6.1 update, used a mobile registry editor and went into the registry files and changed 2 things in this directory: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\SoundCategories\Alarm\InitVol 5 (Default value is 4) HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\SoundCategories\Alarm2\Initvol 5 (Default value is 4) Then I went off and tested the alarm and was louder as it was before the WM 6.1 update. Hopefully this works for you. |
