This is proving to be a real pain. At first when my phone synced with Outlook all the pictures where bad quality, so I placed a new folder in My Pictures called contacts and placed 15 contact pictures of good quality in there to use for my 15 favourites. I assigned each picture to the contacts and all looked great.

Next day I sync my phone and all the pics are imported from outlook again and look s***. Sooooo, I change them all back again with my contact pictures and change the sync settings to "replace items on desktop". Trouble is now, those 15 contacts will not sync at all and I get an error.

Im not sure if you fixed this but I had a similar problem. If you change the picture from the touchflo/manilla screen (not sure what its called) then the quality of the pictures is improved. On the contacts "flip" screen, touch menu in the bottom corner and "change picture". Now reassign the picture and it should stay that way for ever. Did for me anyway.

I had a similar problem while trying to sync with www.dashwire.com, apparently the diamond treats contact images different from other phones (possibly keeping them as higher resolution for the vga screen). If anyone else has this problem with dashwire, speak to their support team. They let me have an early beta release which fixed it smile.gif

I just downloaded and installed the latest ROM update from HTC Club.
I was expecting to have to put back on to the device my contact pics, but they seem to have been copied up to Outlook on my pc (and now synced back down again) as they're certainly not in the folder I'd put them on the Diamond.

I'd suggest updating the pics in Outlook itself and see if it copies them down for you, rather than putting them on the device itself and assigning them locally.
