Ok, I started going through the settings and when I check USB, I could choose activesync, modem, and mass storage. What does this mean? If WM5Storage is too buggy for you, or just complicated, you can use your micro sd card as a storage drive this way.

Go to settings>connections>usb>set it to mass storage.

Now when you connect your phone to your comp, it should appear as a mass storage drive.

Drag and drop files without Active sync , use as a drive for transprting files like a usb memory stick to name but a couple of things.
