Whenever I try to run OmapClock v0.2 on my BJ2 I get the following error:

Initialization Failed
Reason: Can't map I/O

I have this device App Unlocked using the Modaco GPS Unlock utility. I've been able to successfully edit the registry and do other customizations on it. I just can't get OmapCLock to run. I've re-downloaded from different sites and it gives me the same error. Is there something else that needs to be done or downloaded to get this to open? I realize I'll need the OmapPlus program and will need to add shortcuts to the start up folder to make the OC stick, but I've gotta get that error sorted first.

Thanks

Well I fixed my own issue with a little bit of googling I found other people getting that same error when the phone wasn't completely unlocked. So I followed the advice on another post and found that one of my security policies wasn't set correctly. I set that to the correct value and then ran the SDA Unlock app as suggested. A couple of reboots later and OmapClock is working.

Give this a try, I think this should do it:
http://mobile.surrealnetworks.com/AppUnlockReg.htm

EDIT: Just the cab should do it. I don't think you'll need anything else...

Hello again. Could you please tell me how to need to add shortcuts to the start up folder to make the OC stick. THank you

I was able to save the omapclock.exe file to the windows/startup folder. Is this correct???

No. Putting the exe in the startup folder won't help. Even if you did it properly, it would still not stay forever.

I recommend giving Tornado PowerControl a try. I think it was posted on these boards somewhere...

Thank you for the info. i have it kinda working. I used this site, (http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/in...p/t-314272.html) and did what they said. I just can't figure out how he set it to start up when he powers on the phone. And they keys to change are:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\TornadoPowerControl\CP UAuto3
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\TornadoPowerControl\CP USpeed

Change them both to 252.

I changed mine to 276. Also, i did not have "UAuto3" so i changed my "Default" to 276. Any help would be Greatly Appreciated. THanks

A shortcut link of Omapclock.exe in the the Startup folder will work as long as you specify the desired speed in the target line of the shortcut.
What is a stable speed for the BJII?

Thank you. I am very stable at 276. If i try to bump it up to 288, my phone freezes solid and it happens instantly. As soon as i hit "set clock", it just sits there. I have to take the battery out to reset. Maybe i am doing something wrong???

I asked this same question in another string since mine only went to 264 without losing sound.
I replaced my original BJII due to other issues (USB door fell off and the infamous 90% battery charge).
I installed omapclock.exe on my new one, and now I'm going well at 288!!!! Go figure. I'm happy since now I can watch movies with little issues compared to running at the stock 252.

Does anyone know why this is such a crap shoot on overclocking? Could it be due to how many programs you have running in the background.

Thanks.

It has to do with the nature of semiconductor doping. hard to explain without taking college level semiconductor devices classes.

the short answer is that quality control passes an IC if it can run reliably at a given speed, but there is no guarrantee that it can run faster. if it does, thats a bonus.

anyway thanks guys for the link to the app unlocker, i had tried another one that didn't work for omapclock. i can run at 264 without losing sound, 276 runs but sound craps out
