If you have a non UK / Europe ROM Diamond, you probably don't have the Diamond optimized Google Maps, with support for the little scrolly thing for zooming.

Does it offer route planning?

As it didn't shout about it here http://www.google.com/mobile/gmm/new.html I'm guessing it doesn't. sad.gif

Having paid lots of money for a legitimate copy of TomTom5 and their bluetooth adapter and been offered no upgrade path I somewhat reluctant to splash out for TomTom7.

It does route planning, but not 'turn by turn voice routing' you'd get with an app like TomTom.
