Hello,
has anyone else seen a problem with the i900 where once connected to a bluetooth headset the phone screen does not stay off once in a call connected to bluetooth. I have had 3x replacement phones now from orange for the phone not resuming from suspend but all 3x also had the same symptoms, where the screen is constantly going off then back on after a few seconds, ( kind-of like a christmas tree),with 3x bluetooth headsets.. i have a pioneer avic-hd3bt unit in the car but i've also tried with 2x motorola headsets all with the same symptoms. I've spoken to Samsung ts & the guy there tested his omnia with a samsung headset without seeing the same problem but that doesn't solve my problem. ptrbee. |

I am not sure I fully understand your problem, but I have no issues whatsoever with my i.Tech r35 (I think that was the model) BT headset. I have paired them for phone and A2DP music, and it works great. I just need to switch on the BT headset and click on a button, and both connections are made. Music gets interrupted when I make a call, and continues when it ends. The screen does "normal"... it stays on for some time and I guess it will switch off after a while (didn't test that long). What I do have problems with is my radio in the car... yes, also a Pioneer Avic D3BT (or similar, can't remember but it has navigation and A2DP functionality). After changing the COD to 5898764 (learnt that from my previous PDA, and Eten X800), I was somehow able to pair the Omnia to the radio, but different than with the Eten X800, the 2 will NOT connect again automatically unless I put BT as discoverable on the Omnia (which shouldn't be necessary). And to get music over through A2DP I have to redo the pairing every time... not practical (as you pretty much need th stylus for that). With the Eten X800 I was able to use a program called A2DPToggle to make A2DP connect... alternatively I could make a (fake) call and it would connect as well. None of these 2 options work with my Omnia (HH1). Do you have any tricks or tips for me to get the Omnia connected automatically and A2DP easily activated? |

Hi, my problem is answer or make a call on the phone & the screen is constantly switching itself on & off during the call. No matter what i try it does not stay off with that stupid pop-up saying "press the action key to unlock the touch keys" wish i could figure out how to turn it off. To connect my phone to the car bluetooth from the phone settings menu select register and start the registration from the stereo, if the phone is set to visible then you should get the popup for a connection request, put the pin in & that's it should automatically connect now. I think samsung have problems with their bluetooth/wi-fi firmware though cause i also have the wi-fi prob where if you leave wi-fi switched on & put the phone into power save mode then pressing the power button does not bring the phone back on again, sometimes I have to soft-reset or sometimes it takes a couple minutes before the screen comes on. Orange keeps replacing the phones for this issue but they should make samsung fix it, other than that it's a wicked phone. ptrbee. |

I am experiencing this exact same problem, I have an Audi A4 with Bluetooth car kit, when connected to the Omnia the whole thing works fine except the display light stays on almost all the time occasionally going off for for a couple of seconds then coming on again. It's draining the battery unnecessarily and very annoying. Is it a config setting or a bug? if it is, mine will be going back as I have right to return in 14 days. Shame as otherwise its an excellent bit of kit! |

Shame as otherwise its an excellent bit of kit! It's a bug with the phone, i got my 3rd replacement yesterday & it does exactly the same thing, called up samsung tech support ( who are useless) & the guy got a samsung bluetooth headset tried it & told me he can't see the problem so it must be my phone that's faulty, he missed the bit where i told him the phone was opened 30mins ago & has the same problem as the previous 2x. He also sugested that i should try one of their headsets The plot thickens at this point, i went to bed last night with the phone fully charged, put the phone on vibrate only as i do every night only to awake this morning to find the battery completely dead. I immediately go onto orange & guess what handset number 4 is being delivered tomorrow. This time I'm going to update the rom as soon as the battery is charged http://www.modaco.com/content/pocket-pc-professional-news/271999/the-official-samsung-i900-omnia-dxhh1-update-leaked/ if it works then will update the new one tomorrow. |

Mmmm interesting, I don't think they do a Samsung car, are they going to suggest I replace my car? Seriously it does sound like a bug rather than config issue, it also seems all phones are effected and no amount of replacement handsets is going to fix it! The ROM link you sent didn't work, is there an upgrade out already? And do you know if Samsung have a standard approach to supporting this type of issue or is it perhaps a Microsoft issue? My only solution is to buy a car charger so it keeps the charge topped up. The first night I had it I had the mains charger plugged in most of the evening and after a period seemed to loose charge, indiction it wasn't charging so not sure if again there was some issue here that it stopped charging after a period regardless of use. Also, your discharged phone overnight sounds a bit worrying too! |

Also, your discharged phone overnight sounds a bit worrying too! I just did the rom update, worked fine, haven't tested in the car yet though, 1) http://www.modaco.com/content/i900-omnia-h...re-version-fix/ 2) download and run i900DXHH1_PDA_updater_xp, you have to press the reset button before it detects and runs though 3) http://www.modaco.com/content/i900-omnia-h...33/xxhh3-radio/ install this to update the radio PHONE_i900XXHH3 4) update to 1900DXHH1 rom 5) reste your region to uk, see if this fixes your problems. will update later once i go shopping. BTW mines was orange |
