Device(s): MDA Compact III

Hi all,

novice nwebie needs help - I have a new, as yet unused T-Mobile MDA Compact IV but don't like the T-Mobile branded software - would prefer to revert to the original HTC black Touch Flo 3d. What is the best way to do so? I have read about flashing a new rom but still not sure exactly what this does and if this is all that I would need to give me a fully functioning phone with the original black home screens etc - or is there any other/better ways of achieving this.

Any help in this matter greatly appreciated.

Thanks
