With WM 6.1, Garmin always connects to the web during startup, In the earlier version of windows mobile, it would only connect to the web, depending on how you have configured Garmin.

Has anyone figured a way on how to disable the access to the web when you start mobile xt. The behaviour of earlier version (4.x) and the newer 5.0.0.10w is the same on 6.1

Thanks

Simple fix:

1. In the Garmin Main Window click on the Menu Soft Key
2. Go to Tools
3. Now click on Settings
4. Now look for Garmin Online and click on it.
5. Click on Garmin Online Access and you'll get the following options.
Alway
Prompted
Disable
6. Just pick the one you want and click on Done.

You're all set now... wink.gif

It is set to 'Disable'

Inspite of it, whenever I start mobile xt, it still goes to the web..

Have you tried going into Avoidance Setup? Try deselecting traffic cuz garmin will go online when trying to get traffic info

I'm pretty sure that's due to the aGPS feature in 6.1. It's checking the server to get the info for a faster GPS lock. I have noticed this happening anytime I turn the GPS on.

Edit:
In looking in the WM GPSTest... in the config for the GPS it lists an SUPL Server with the address 192.168.0.35:7275 and when you start GPSTest it does indeed connect to the net.
