Hello everyone
First some background info: I have an Omnia that i ordered over ebay from hongkong. It came with dxhg4 rom. I would like to upgrade this to a more stabe rom, because my phone hangs all the time.. Sadly, i don't have access to a windows XP machine, only vista, so i wondered if you could give me a step-by-step on how to update to DXHI3. What files do i need, what buttons to push and so on? Iv'e downloaded the i900DXHI3.7zip and USDL_GrandPrix_v1.5.2_XP.7zip from your firmware download page (ROM download links, naming scheme + 'Incorrect Software ), but both the files are exe files that start each their upgrading program, and both clearly say that they are just for XP. Also i have downloaded Windows Mobile Device center and the Modem driver from samsungs pages.. Is there no way to do this rather safely from Vista? Only XP machine is one my brother got from school, but it doesen't have administrator rights. I really appreciate your help! - Requiem, computer nerd, but WindowsMobile n00b |

The i900DXHI3.7zip and USDL_GrandPrix_v1.5.2_XP.7zip file you've downloaded is meant to be used on a Windows XP system only.

Hi I ran into an issue which forced me to look for Vista sources. You can get the Phillipines Vista Rom here - http://www.samsung-omnia.org/index.php/topic,630.0.html
and the Vista modem driver here - http://www.samsungmobile.com/promotion/omn...sub02_Vista.jsp. The thread is here - http://www.modaco.com/content/i900-omnia-h.../samsung-modem/ Don't forget to install the modem driver first and reboot your machine before trying to run the rom update. Hope this helps. BTW I didn't end up trying this, so if you get a positive result post to this thread for others. This post has been edited by CrunchingNumbers: Oct 10 2008, 00:40 |

Yes, that is why i created this post Are there any files for dxhi3 for vista? Has anyoune succeded in flashing an i900 from vista? There is suppose to be a Vista release of HI3 but was delayed due to wrong checksum and file failure to run. Till now we've heard no news update on it. |
