Do you have to unlock your phone again after a hard reset?

what is an Application lock? I might have the sim lock because i have T mobile and my sim works for the phone. My phone all of a sudden stopped playing music and all sounds through the phone. Sound works when i get a phone call, so its wierd. Have any suggestions? I thought maybe a master reset would do the job but i am nervous i might screw up the phone. let me know. thanks!

After a hard reset will you need to install the other third-party applications that were installed on the phone?

Such as:

tcpmp
google maps
xpress mail
ICS
...

I have backups of these apps since i sync via active sync 4.5 to pc but the installation procedure for some of these are long and would hate to re-do everything from scratch.

ok, so just to get this straight, and I a apologize if i sound dumb. I bought an already unlocked blackjack2, meaning i can put my sim from tmobile and it will work. So if i hard reset, then will it lock my phone up again and my tmobile sim card not work?
