Hello all here is my free beta TVlistings application infoMec.
Thanks to the boys at MSMobilenews for hosting the files for me.
EDIT: only for WM2003 phones atm sorry

Use at your own risk etc :-D

screen shots

ok to download the program go
here

once the program is installed go to your Pocket internet explorer and click on the 'infoMec' link that has appeared there, this will get the TV listings for a week.

The listings will be updated weekly (probs late saturday), all you have to do is again click on the link in pocket internet explorer and all the listings will be updated.

cheers to Brody, Beersoft, Vector, Chrisjm for testing and helping me with my app.
EDIT:- and will :-D
have fun all

well if i was chargeing for it i could understand your concern but since i knocked it up in my own spare time and its FREE your tone comes accross a bit rude.

i have edited the post above (sorry about that) and if anyone would like to take on converting this application to C++ so it will work for SM2002 users i would love to hear from them.

wow its late i must sleep tongue.gif

Have downloaded and some feedback if you don't mind.

- No icon
- Regional variations (possibly in different cabs to save on GPRS usage)
- Personally, I think Menu > TV Guide is a pointless Sub menu

But still very nice as it stands now, cheers.

Cheers for the feedback ferret:-

Im working on the icon --shouldent be to hard to fix for the next update
I noticed the region variations--nothing i can do at the minute but in the future i would like to set up a numch of different cabs for different areas :-D
(only ITV is really effected i think coz i couldent get a generic one--lucky people who livein east anglia :-D)

I get your point about the TVGuide submenu but its there because in the future when i add more channels it will be 'terrestrail' 'digital' 'sky' if you get my drift, also on previous versions i had a 'football league' sub menu that was updated every week so that may make a return.

Cheers ferret-----if people post as much feedback as possible this will help future development thanks alot :-D

Nice to see the return of this app! Good work MCEX.

I'll repost my feedback from the old thread as the comments all still stand!

QUOTE
- How about when viewing TV listings, mapping left and right to change channels, e.g if you're looking at 8:00 on ITV and press left it takes you to 8:00 on BBC2 etc. Reason for this is that it takes a while to scroll down and would be easier to go to the time you are intersted in then flick through the channels, also brings me onto my next point...
- Page up/down feature, e.g using 7 and 9 for page up and down like in SmartExplorer - would make it much quicker/easier to navigate.

I'd also back ferrets call for an icon - how about the nice simple one i've attached.

Keep up the good work!

It does yes but you are only downloading a cab of around 10Kb in size so it will cost you next to nothing!

Thanks for all the kind remarks :-D

All feedback is welcome as long as it is constructive so keep it coming.

I have exams and stuff for the next few weeks so dont expect any major udates to the program till after then----the TVlistings will be updated however.

Someone had PM'd me about converting to SM2002, currently in talks as it were :-D :-D

Fantastic application! And it's great that the effort is being put in to updating it every week!

Improvements that can be made: (I'm just stating these as improvements, I'm not whinging about the program smile.gif )

I'm being super picky, but my attention to detail is crazy - the "h" in CH4 is like this Ch4 for Monday and Tuesday, others are fine.

Would it be able to make it so that buttons 7 and 9 make the page go down and up respectively? Like Smart Explorer? because, I mainly want to know what's on TV at prime time - 7-10pm.

You could remove the TV Guide option after you open the application, just make the days appear, once less click, that's all.
