Hi all,

I'm looking for networking tools for my smartphone (HTC 710).
Would be nice to do ping, traceroute, (reverse) DNS lookups etc from my mobile device.

I'm searching since 2 days, but can't find something suitable. Twice I thought I found the wholy grale, but both times the links were dead or the site doesn't send me a trial activation key...

Does anyone know such software for Windows Mobile 6 Smartphone ed. ? Doesn't need to be freeware, but a price <50$ is desirable :-)

A second thing I like to use: some secure info storage app. I found DocLock from Polle Software, but this doesn't work well on my phone. It looks like sh*t and doesn't save paths, only the files. Will do for now, but better alternatives are welcome.

Thanks in advance!

Steven

VxUtil is your friend.

I'm not sure if it does Smartphone ... but works excellently on PocketPC.

Haven't looked into secure storage I'm afraid.

For secure data storage I found a nice tool:
http://www.developerone.com/codewalletpro/mobile.htm
It costs 25$ (30 days trial), and it seems that it's worth the money

Have a go with the trial for that, I'm not sure what "tools" it offers though.

Sorry I misread your first question. Yes, that is a good tool. I've also tried SplashID http://www.splashdata.com/

I haven't settled on one or the other yet, as it's going to be a huge job to input all my information that I want securing.

Before purchasing, check to see either are available within MoDaCo Plus subscription? Like you, I went out and purchased loads of PocketPC software, and then subscribed to MoDaCo Plus where most of it was available for Free.

Looks good. Only ping and a port check, no traceroute or DNS tools, but will do for now.
Thx for the link. With all that mobile BS on the net I can't seem to find useful tools...

Thats not right. It's buggy and needs to be closed via Taskmanager, but it works (kind of). Have a look here to see how to make it work: Smartphone Tips Collection at XDADeveloperWiki
