If you are a Mac and a WinMo user, then there are two solutions out there for all your syncing needs - 'Missing Sync' or 'Syncmate' (available in either free or paid versions).

I've personally bought both, but I must confess that it's the newcomer Syncmate that is currently installed on my machine rather than the established Missing Sync.

For today only, the MUPromo arm of top Mac site MacUpdate is offering Syncmate Expert - the paid version of Syncmate - at a 50% discounted price of $19.95... quite a bargain! The expert version adds the following features...
  • Bookmark synchronization
  • Folders synchronization
  • iPhoto synchronization
  • iTunes synchronization
  • Notes synchronization
  • Time synchronization
  • Mail plugin
  • SMS manager plugin
  • Applications list plugin
  • To Do's plugin
...some additions well worth having.

You can find out more about Syncmate (and also grab the free version) over at the Eltima site, or get in quick for your 50% discount over at MUPromo [aff].

Does anyone know if SyncMate is better than missingsync or not. I'm not 100% happy with missing sync.

Anyone have any comparisons before I spend $20 after already spending $40?

Paid yesterday and received a receipt - no licence however, nor any response from MuPromo or Eltima... Have emailed both twice. I realise the "promotion" has ended, but caveat emptor applies.

Licence received today from Eltima after being required to re-send my original email with copy of receipt.
Service from Eltima and particularly MuPromo not good (the latter never responded). Software however works pretty well for me - I'd say at least as well as Missing Sync, and far better than PocketMac (ie: it works at all!), and on the desktop side probably better than ActiveSync on an XP pc (not too hard I know...) I've been using it from beta and it has been consistently improved and updated.
The free version is fine if you simply want to sync your WM device with iCal and Mac address book, and I expect that's sufficient for a lot of people. It's not perfect, but improves all the time - I reckoned it was worth the $20 on special offer to upgrade to Expert.
