can some plz help me, i have had my spv for two weeks now, i am trying to unlock it for uncertified apps. My problem is that i get as far as editing mxipcold_oem10.provxml and mxip_oem10.provxml files, but when i turn my phone off, and then on holding the voice memo button and then i press and hold action button when prompted, my screen goes to the canary mv screen and i have no option to press 8 to erase IPSM Data. I have noticed that on my canary screen it says 'canary MV v0.93' and not canary PV like it is stated in the guide to unlocking the phone for application development. I purchased my phone on 27/01/2003, could this problem be due to the fact that this is a newer version phone, or am i doing somethiNg wrong.....PLEAASSSE SOME ONE HELP !!

I think you have to click left (one or two times) on the joypad to find the menu while you are in the canary screen.

It takes a great deal of practice to time it right...u need to hold the action button down pretty much straight away... I also found that the instant it appears to be turning on release the Rec button and move the action button,,,hold it down and u will be given a grey screen with your menus.

you are running the new version thats why it's hard to do.
try again but have the SD card in as it slows the process down.
