I know you all been waiting for this port long time... As i like wolf3d much much more than doom.....anyway this game is very brighter in comparison with dark rooms and atmosphere of doom and also more addictive! For those who didn't hear about wolf3d,Wolf3d was the first 3d person shooter game in the world and i think one of the best...as i spent lots of my hours playing this game.... Overview from id Software: QUOTE Maybe it was the fact that people got to blow away Nazis. Maybe it was the sheer challenge of it all. For whatever reason, Wolfenstein 3D and Spear of Destiny, pioneered the first-person shooter genre and brought its legendary creators, id Software, worldwide notoriety and numerous awards. In fact, The Computer Gaming World Hall of Fame recognized Wolfenstein 3D as helping to shape the overall direction of the computer gaming industry. QUOTE The story: You're William J. "B.J." Blazkowicz, the Allies' bad boy of espionage and a terminal action seeker. Your mission was to infiltrate the Nazi fortress Castle Hollehammer and find the plans for Operation Eisenfaust, the Nazi's blueprint for building the perfect army. Rumors are that deep within the castle the diabolical Dr. Schabbs has perfected a technique for building a fierce army from the bodies of the dead. It's so far removed from reality that it would seem silly if it wasn't so sick. But what if it were true? As an escaped prisoner in a Nazi war prison, you will move smoothly through a 3D world full of amazing detail and animation Unlike other 3D games, you'll run through a sensational and realistic 3-D environment, with intelligent moving guards and opponents. WINNER OF 3 SHAREWARE INDUSTRY AWARDS, INCLUDING PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARD! Wolfenstein 3-D has won these RETAIL industry awards in 1992: * "One of the eight most important games ever created" -- PC Gamer * "Best Arcade/Action Game" -- Software Publishers Association "Codie" Award * "Best Arcade/Action Game" -- Compute magazine * "Most Popular Game" -- PC World magazine (reader's poll) * "Best Action Game" -- Video Games & Computer Entertainment magazine * "Most Innovative Game" -- Video Games & Computer Entertainment magazine * "Editor's Choice Award" -- Shareware Magazine * "Best Entertainment Software (Finalist)" -- PC/Computing games in these series were: -Wolfenstein 3d.....[ported] -Spear of destiny .......[ported] -Return to Castle Wolfenstein(which all of you know) ....[?!@@#$#$%^] Grab the shareware files from here : Wolfenstein 3d: shareware CODE ftp://ftp.3drealms.com/share/1wolf14.zip unpack them anywhere you like and put my exe file there(all file in same directory).....and run. you only need files with .wl1 extensions.Other files are not neccessary. and for full version you need .wl6 files. Spear of Destiny: demo: i think you can find it at CODE http://www.dosgamesarchive.com/download/game/5 and also you can buy full version from id software! [History] v1.3a -Compatible with all diffrent screen resulotions in devices. -Some optimizations. -Diffrent program icons for wolf and spear files. v1.3b -Spear of Destiny full version is now working. -Key Configing is now working with almost all keys. -Some fixes on portrait display mode and also other modes.(better resolution on portrait mode). v1.2b -icon added -landscape and portrait modes -turning off sound from menu -some bugs fixed v1.1b -Sounds are working now(i really did it...i cant beleive myself!!) -Load/Save is now working -Speed is better and no lags.... -Color issue might be fixed on e200 -"nogapi" command line option for those with mitacs that have problems! -"nosound" command line option if you have problem with sounds..... Game controls: (just like Doom) * Shoot # Opening Doors 9 Yes back key Cancel/no green call button Changing landscape and portrait modes Let me know if this works on yours...or have any problems! I don't know if you ended up using my SDL port, but it may cause this problem - I'm having color issues on E200, although everything is working perfectly on other devices ...

No no, you don't need to do that
to do that you'll need to locate the SDL initialization in your code, something like SDL_Init(SDL_VIDEO | SDL_AUDIO | SDL_TIMER) and replace it by SDL_VideoInit("windib", 0); SDL_Init(SDL_AUDIO | SDL_TIMER); you can even make it a configurable parameter or whatever |

tnx for tip......
but i really dont use sdl for anything but fliping surfaces...and i myself do conversion from 8 bit to 16 bit..... i tested gapi while useing sdl but it couses some refreshing problems..... but it was very speedy ....so i think switching to gdi will be a lot more slower.... let me test it and tell you then |

If you work on Wolf3D a little more, you should be able to perfect it since it had a weaker engine than Doom. I miss playing this game.
