Okay, basically a while back i lost my phone. The insurance company has given me a load of money to go out and buy a new one. Originally I have a TMobile branded version as i kliked the rounded corners.

Amazingly, TMobile are dumb and say I can't get a Compact IV as they don't sell them without SIMs, so if you ever loose one, you wont be able to get a new one without a contract (they dont do it on PAYG).

So should I hark on at TMobile and try and get a branded version, or should I just go out and get the OEM HTC version?

Oh, and where is the cheapest place to get one of these currently?

Cheers people.

Well i phoned them up again today as i didnt hear back from them yesterday and they still dont have an answer for me. Plus I asked them if they had any in stock and they dont, so sod them. I think i will just buy the HTC OEM version.

I dont think ebay is a good idea as i dont wanna chance it. Anyone know what the cheapest place is at the moment?

I was talking to a friend of mine that has the HTC, and he thought the T-Mobile one felt a bit more plasticy but also that it looked nicer. Some people love the shaped diamond back that the generic phone has.
Another thing to consider is that a lot of spares, holders, etc for the Diamond do NOT fit the T-Mobile one. They are a few mm different in size, and i've read that the rear battery cover is a different fitting - so if you want the higher power battery the covers won't fit right, etc.

If you just want the phone as it is, and don't care about buying any extras in the future, then the T-Mobile one should be ok as far as I have seen (not got one yet, as like you said T-Mobile don't have any in!).
