 unlocking spv m700, please

can any one help me

i have orange spv m700 used phone, my friend gave it to me with no sim card in it.
i am in canada now and going to buy a connection rogers or something.
but the fone is locked coz i tried a roger sim card in it and it ask for password or code.
any one to help me?

If the phone has a password lock so you can not access applications etc then you need to ask your friend what the code is or do a hard reset and restore the phone to its factory settings.
If you are talking about a SIM lock then either XDA developers may help or for a simple method but costs try IMEI-check.co.uk

phone is working without the sim. but when i insert sim it ask for code.
now i am not in uk
i am in canada and going to buy a sim but i already tried someones sim and it ask for code.

yep so it's SIM locked, in that case you will need to visit either XDA developers or IMEI-check.co.uk
