Cheers triran for the specs, and CoolSmartphone for the pic (damn you Leigh, I had the same pic on the way, hehe) wink.gif

Orange are prepping a new Smartphone, the SPV C550.

The first Smartphone to feature a QVGA resolution, the C550 features:

QUOTE
1.3 Megapixel Camera
GPRS Class 10
240x320 65k TFT colour screen
64mb Internal memory and Mini SD external memory
USB, IrDA and Bluetooth
Video MMS
Java 2.0
Our sources indicate that the following features are unconfirmed, but rumoured:

QUOTE
Integrated SZGA and Flash
262K not 64K Display
May have 3G technology too but no internal camera

The dimensions are 90x47x25mm, weighing 110g

So... it looks a bit ugly right? wink.gif

We can also exclusively reveal that the handset is due to hit the shops in May! smile.gif

May! cripes!
Still I suppose that really means July, which is cool cos my birthday is mid-July wink.gif

What about dimensions? Presumably it's going to be bigger than the C500, but by how much?

Ooh! I don't think it's that ugly. So, what OS is this meant to be running? Is it still smartphone with that screen rez?

really hope that they don't go to 18 bit (262k) screen sad.gif (lots of reason's I wont bore you with, but you'll be sorry if they go true 18bit as well - trust me)

and I wonder if they can manage to hide the 'stick any better? are they just trying to remove it bit by bit with each generation ?

Yup, I also find it a bit ugly. But I don't mind if it's got good features, including an 8 ways joystick.

Better looking than the C500 - kind of a hybrid between the C500 and SP3i.

Damn, that screen looks huge by proportion!

And hence Orange getting rid of the stocks of the C500 on PAYG at the silly price of £120 to £150.

3G would be great.

It looks really cheap and horrible though. Maybe the final product will look better...

Fantastic news. Are those SDA Music style Play/Forward/Rewind buttons I see?

And Drblow: should be Smartphone as the increased screen resolution was announced for the Smartphone platform by Microsoft months ago, just no one's released one on the market yet.

Oh, and I'd be amazed if this DIDN'T have Windows Media Player 10. The reason Orange haven't made it available for C500 is probably to ensure when they do release a Smartphone with WMP10 that it's all the more attractive to new customers and upgrades alike!

I hope this has hot swappable mini SD!!

It looks like an upgraded feeler! with the media player buttons below the screen!!

What is the issue with 18k screens?

It will DEFINITELY have WMP10.

Note this pic is a rendering, not an actual photograph...
