Yahoo's web-based mail is now optimized for Smartphone access. If you type in http://www.yahoo.com/r/m1 or http://wap.oa.yahoo.com on your phone's IE address bar, you will be re-directed to...

You can then use the 'Sign In' link or keypad shortcut 1 (Mail) to access the login page. It is now easier to compose and receive new messages.

Works on both pass through and direct GPRS connection. Try it yourself smile.gif

Hate to burst your bubble on Xmas Day, but this isn't new, Yahoo has had WAP access like this for years (I have been checking my Yahoo email since I had an Ericsson t29, back, back in the monochrome, three-line-display days).
In fact, I remember they used to have an even better version, where the sender's name was written below each email received (useful if you receive a lot of emails and only want to read the useful ones) and you could actually view attachments, but for some strange reason that one is no longer available.

Skyfox, can you please give more info? I'd like to be able to check my Y!mail through Outlook using POP3 access, but haven't found a free way yet.

Thanks,

Loukas

I have a problem with this - I was using this Yahoo Wap portal on my c500 loads, and it was great - however I can't access it on my sp5 - one of these web addresses just redirects me to the full size mail logon page, and the other displays this error message:

"The page you are looking for cannot be found due to unknown error 0x80088000"

Anybody got any bright ideas?

Here's a great answer to the 0x80088000 error. Apparently, it's something AT&T added to PIE. This is the link from Howard Forum. The only thing is that the regedit for me doesn't stick. So, every time I have to soft reboot, I have to edit the reg. Any ideas?
