Hi all - just wanted to update you on the official Orange response to those rumours about the SPV E200...

The SPV E200 is not being withdrawn from sale in the UK, contrary to reports on an Internet news site.

Orange is not aware of customer complaints regarding software faults, the phone has not been “sent back to the manufacturer” and there are no plans for a recall of the product.

Orange continues to market and sell the phone and looks forward to continued success with the SPV range.

Orange takes the posting of these false allegations very seriously and is currently considering whether to take any further action.

There you go!

Obviously, we are continually updating and improving on our products, so keep up the feedback.

Cheers!

Mr Orange

Mr O

I'm not an E200 user yet (depends mainly on the joystick), so have you got an official response on the joystick (or do you know when there will be one)? smile.gif

Hello Mr.O besides the bugs to complain about how about the huge amount of money you are asking for an upgrade to the E200 for customers that have been with Orange for well over 5 years? I don't want to have to spend in excess of £50 a month online rental and then some just to bring the price down.

Is customer loyalty not that important to Orange?

Is the awful call quality a hardware fault? Should we return phones for replacement?

I am not English, I am, ethnically speaking, 100% Polish (part of Slavic family of nations - the same as Russia).

Yes, please be so nice and send me corrections of grammer either here on the forum or through the [fully anonymous] contact form at:
http://msmobiles.com/contactus.php

I would be grateful!

Em... I know this is off topic for this thread, but given the above statement - will you be telling us what the story is with the 1.6 update?

As much as I want info on 1.6, the subject is E200?

I'd like to know what will be happening about the 4-way joystick problem!

It's amusing what different people see has the major issue now. I'm more interested in a phone that will outlast the sunset if i actually use it and would far rather hear about a bigger battery than a better wiggle now i've got my phone!

I know, I know!!

I just find remarks like the one above, under the current circumstances, too inflammatory to go unmentioned!

Sorry - I will stick to topic & go cry elsewhere!

If I call Orange and say the battery blows I want a refund will they comply? Or if a better battery is released will they give me one for nothing? At the moment I cant go away on business without my charger, its not the end of the world, but it is a pain in the a$$. As has been stated by others, I have to put my phone on charge over night everyday at the moment. This is not acceptable.

i think they have their heads above ground but just put their fingers in their ears when they hear any problems!
whilst i appreciate that mr orange has a job to do, he is oranges spokesperson in modaco and is it therefore not unreasonable to expect that he would look on here more than once a blue moon. if he did he would be aware of issues with the e200 or perhaps he is aware he just has his "if i ignore it it will go away" hat on!

I found a feedback form.

So I've detailed my problems to Orange technical support, once I get a reponse they can no longer say they're not aware
