 SPV M600, Message Phone not ready

Hope that someone can help on this one. Have just purchased SPv M600 2nd hand on orange. It came with a payg orange simm card which works fine. When I attempt to use my own contract orange simm card, when i attemp to go into phone settings I get the message phone not ready try again in 15 secs, also it will not send or receive text messages, again going into text messaging options I get the same message. It is strange that the phone will work on the 2 payg cards have tried but not on my contract simm. any ideas?

i have same issue after sim upgrade how did you get on?
