Have I completely missed it or have they left out the accelerometer from the Omnia II? Watching the Mobileburn video it seems auto screen rotation either wasn't working or is no longer a part of the Omnia experience

QUOTE Windows Mobile 6.5 Updateability The new Omnia smartphone series devices will be updateable to Windows Mobile® 6.5 upon the new OS update release. Please contact your mobile operator and/or local Samsung office for details. Are Samsung just going to totally ignore the requirements for Windows mobile 6.5? None of the phones above have any hint of a windows key and only the B7320 (I've deliberately left out the OmniaPRO title as it doesn't make sense to call two completely different devices an OmniaPRO with only a model number differentiating them) has an actual back key, with the OmniaPRO (see what I'm doing here) having an OK key which might just qualify it as having a back key. The 'II' and the Lite are both pretty short on keys from what I can see. EDIT: Perhaps the Local Samsung office are going to arrange for additional keys to be added when the update is available. I really love the Omnia II. I was about to borrow an Omnia a few weeks ago and it's the best Windows Mobile phone that I've ever used. But the one I borrowed was CDMA (i910 - Verizon, USA) so I could never fully use it. I hate that the American Omnia II is also CDMA only.
But as phones go you will almost never find everything you want in the same phone. So I'll be ordering the GSM version knowing that I won't be able to use it in 3G mode. |

I'm very happy with my Omnia and it looks like the main dissapointments I have with the current Omnia have been addressed:
3.5mm jack A-GPS (hopefully unlocked!) Longer battery life Can't say I like the athestics better, but is it better to have a pretty wife that can't cook or an ugly wife that puts Emeril to shame? |

I-8000 looks sexy. One thing though, A-GPS is listed, wondering if it will have a hardware gps reciever, or will it be software only? Suprised Verizon is picking it up. wow

I assume this bit just means that its a resistive touch screen? Talk about trying to make the ordinary sound sexy! I'd much rather have a resistive touch screen than a capacitive one. I might be in the minority. I don't have a need for multitouch, and I like to be able to use anything for a stylus. Plus I like to ride my bike, and wearing gloves would be pain with capacitive. You have to take them off every time you want to use the phone. On top of that, if you scratch or damage your screen you can replace a resistive for a lot cheaper. |

Hopefully the final version changes to 16m colors... or are these the final specs from Samsung? This post has been edited by FerdiBorbon: Jun 17 2009, 08:50 |

WinMo doesn't support >65k at this time.
Is it really that much of an issue? P |

the B7610's RAM lets it down, otherwise it's a fine device
